This one was a special one. A friend came to me and told me she had a magical property that she inherited after a family loss and the house needed a lot of love to even get it to selling condition. See, not only is cleaning things up and moving things out a laborious process, but when the place has sentimental significance and you are grieving a loss, and all the place does is exacerbate the grief, it also becomes an emotional process making that labor even harder. You ever feel so overwhelmed with a household task and just need a friend to come take over for you? It’s so much easier for that friend to do it than you sometimes because the friend isn’t emotionally affected by the task and can objectively tackle it. (If you haven’t experienced this, what’s it like to be the favorite? π) I saw the arduous mountain my friend had in front of her and offered a solution should she be interested. Luckily, she was receptive to the help and we were able to get the house cleaned up in a week! We took photos and this video, and sold the house for what she was hoping for! It’s so fulfilling to be able to help people in an array of life’s different challenges. I get to witness someone shed old skin and blossom into the next era of their life once a giant obstacle is overcome. I love what I do! In 2017 I was in the path of 99% eclipse and said to myself that I would make the trip to 100% totality at the next one. Never really giving it much more thought until March of this year when I realized that it was happening again. I made a random post on Facebook about a week before it to see if someone would come with me since my husband and daughter have school and weren’t terribly interested in traveling that far. One of my old Big River buddies from back in the day who also now is in real estate, answered the call and linked us up with her Phish tour family. Trish and Travis happen to live on a 5 acre farm that is yards away from the exact dot that the 2017 and 2024 eclipses crossed paths. There was a band, amazing food, incredible people, farm dogs, and magical vibes emanating from everyone and everything. There were so many signs of synchronicity to ignore. So much I can’t even put it all in a post. There was a university science professor with a telescope, our camp neighbors were from TN and took the amazing photos of the eclipse here. There was intention setting, there was even a proposal! Thank you Ashley for being my road trip companion and finding us the best place to experience it. I didn’t quite anticipate needing to buy a new car this soon, but apparently being a realtor is HARD on your car. I put 20,000+ miles on my car from April to December last year, and it was already high on miles and a car I had for a work from home lifestyle. I rode that thing until it was literally not safe for my kids to be in anymore. So check out my very first completely brand new car! Not just new to me. It had 50 miles on it. It’s a hybrid so I won’t have to fuel up every 3 days anymore! It said 520 miles until next fuel up! It has so much room for signs and open house stuff in the back. It’s so much safer for the kiddos to be in. And it has all wheel drive so now when I’m showing land or more “rural” properties I’m not pleading with my car to make it through the whole time. π€£ I love it so much!!!
